Online OCD Therapy in Illinois & Colorado

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is more than just being particular or liking things a certain way. It involves unwanted thoughts, mental or behavioral compulsions, and a crushing weight of doubt and anxiety that follows you everywhere. Many adults with OCD describe feeling trapped in their own minds, constantly seeking certainty, replaying thoughts, or trying to “undo” anxiety through reassurance-seeking.

The good news is that OCD is highly treatable. With the right approach, you can learn to respond differently to intrusive thoughts, reduce compulsive patterns, and reclaim a sense of calm and control in your daily life.

Common OCD Symptoms

You don’t have to see yourself in every item on this list to deserve support, but you may be experiencing OCD if you find yourself:

  • Having intrusive, unwanted thoughts that feel distressing or hard to dismiss

  • Getting stuck in repetitive mental loops or rumination

  • Seeking reassurance from others, but never feeling truly settled

  • Replaying conversations or scenarios over and over

  • Engaging in mental checking or compulsive analysis

  • Feeling anxious until you’ve achieved a sense of certainty

  • Experiencing persistent doubt about your relationships or feelings toward others

OCD often overlaps with anxiety, particularly when fear of the future, making mistakes, or uncertainty drives the thought patterns.

Do I Need OCD Therapy?

In OCD therapy, we work together to:

  • Understand the thoughts and fears keeping you stuck in mental loops

  • Reduce the urge to seek reassurance or engage in compulsive behaviors

  • Learn to tolerate uncertainty without needing to check, fix, or analyze

  • Respond to intrusive thoughts in ways that reduce their power over time

  • Feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control of your daily life

How We Approach OCD

At Bloomed Therapy, we use evidence-based therapy approaches that are specifically designed to treat OCD, tailoring our methods to your distinct needs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Many people with OCD get stuck in overanalyzing, seeking validation, and trying to think their way into a definitive answer. CBT helps you identify thought patterns, fears, and behaviors that keep OCD cycles going, so you can develop healthier ways of responding to anxiety and intrusive thoughts.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is considered the go-to treatment for OCD. It works by gradually and safely exposing you to the thoughts or situations that trigger your OCD, while helping you resist the urge to engage in compulsions, mental rituals, or reassurance-seeking. Over time, your brain learns that anxiety and uncertainty can be tolerated — without needing to check or fix everything.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps you change your relationship with intrusive thoughts rather than trying to eliminate them entirely. Through mindfulness and self-awareness, ACT teaches you to tolerate discomfort without becoming controlled by fear or obsessive thinking.
